Listening Prayer
a pathway to a deeper life in the Sacred
Siloam Spirituality Center offers a weekly opportunity to explore practices of meditation and prayer, beginning January 7, 2009
Each Wednesday from 5:30 - 6:30, you are invited to enter this quiet space where various forms of meditation, reflection and prayer will be introduced in a calm, reassuring atmosphere. The result may very well be a reduction of the impact of stress and anxiety in your life.
Come experience the calm and the nourishment that can refresh your inner being in the midst of the week. You will learn practices of prayer, meditation and reflection meant to:
bring you into a closer relationship with the sacred.
invite you to be open, aware and receptive.
turn your full attention to the source of being.
There is no weekly commitment - just come whenever you can. Bring a floor pillow, or a rug if you are comfortable sitting on the floor. Chairs will also be available.
Siloam Spirituality Center is housed at East Congregational Church,
1005 Giddings, Grand Rapids.
Questions may be directed to Ann or Pat 616-256-0578 ext. 211. We will return your call.

Facilitators of Siloam Spirituality Center are the Rev. Ann P. Slade and the Rev. Patricia A. Stirling. Both of these women are ordained ministers in the United Church of Christ and have served several churches as called pastors and as interim ministers. Both have their MDiv degrees from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and have been in extended programs preparing them for working with people seeking to deepen their relationship with God. Presently they are participants in the Dominican Center program in Spiritual Formation and are Associate Spiritual Directors.

*What is Spiritual Direction? We strive together (one-on-one) to be open to the inner movement of the Holy Spirit in one’s life. It is a privileged meeting of hearts, where the one seeking is encouraged to unfold in God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Through this encounter, we increase our awareness of God in the midst of life’s experience and acknowledge that God yearns for a relationship with us as much as we long for God.
