Minister of Spiritual Formation - The Reverend Jody Betten

The Reverend Jody Betten comes to East Church with passion and skills in the areas of worship, leadership, administration, empowering people and community relations. Jody returns ‘home' to Grand Rapids where she grew up, attended Calvin College and served in ministry at Orchard Hill Reformed Church through seminary.

Jody earned her Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan and was ordained in the Reformed Church in America in 1996. In Chicago she served as pastor to churches in both suburban and urban settings. She also served World Vision, a relief and development organization, in their Chicago office as Director of Church Relations. She was privileged to travel with supporting churches to India and Africa.

East Church again participated in the Ottawa Hills Garden Tour on Saturday, June 30, 2008, from 9AM to 1PM. We look forward to being involved again next year.

Please view the attached brochure for more detail.

SPRING 2007

“I pray that you may enjoy good health and all may go well with you even as your soul is getting along well” (3John:2).

Spring is a great time to recognize high blood pressure, cholesterol and stroke awareness.

What do I need to know about stroke, cholesterol and BP?

East Church connects with our community in many ways. This section of our site allows you to dig a little further into how we reach out to make a difference.

Work has begun on the ICCF Home. New plumbing, heating and electric services are going in at this time. These items are done by contractors under ICCF supervision.

On Saturday, March 31, 11 volunteers gathered with rakes, shovels and brooms to clean up the yard.  We were also able to take a tour of the inside of the house and got a feel for the amount of work that needs to be done.  See the photos below for outdoor and indoor views of 1056 Calvin SE.
