East Church has for many decades run a food pantry to help those primarily in our neighborhood who might benefit from our support. Our food pantry is affiliated with ACCESS and the Baxter Community Center. The pantry is set up like a store to allow clients to select items they need for their homes and families. Merchandise is weighed and given to families allotted based on the size of the family. We serve thirty- plus families at this time and, also, some clients that are referred to our pantry through Baxter Community Center. A dedicated team of people shop, stock and staff our store. Run by our Mission Board, this service is not a budgeted item but, depends on donations, both financial and merchandise, from the membership to continue operating. The store is open the last two Tuesdays of the month from 1:30-6:00 PM. If you have questions or would like to volunteer or offer your support to our pantry, contact Ana Dunn.
