Senior Minister

Rev. Dan Plasman

The Rev. Dan Plasman arrived at East Church in August 2005 and served as the transitional Senior Minister until receiving a call to be the Senior Minister in July, 2006. Dan grew up in Holland, MI, and received his Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Brunswick, NJ. He was ordained in the Reformed Church in America in 1980. Since that time, he has served churches in Queens, NY; Rochester, NY; and Downers Grove, IL, a suburb twenty-five miles west of Chicago.

Dan has three children, Jim, Kate, and Tom. They are college and post-graduate students. Besides traveling near and far, Dan has been a serious amateur photographer for his adult life. Additionally, he takes pity on old houses, having restored several to their original beauty. He is also a reluctant runner.
